POROS PERLAWANAN – Dilansir Press TV, sebuah laporan yang baru terbit mengungkapkan bahwa Raja Saudi Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud mengusulkan rencana kepada Presiden AS, Donald Trump untuk menyerang Qatar pada musim panas 2017, ketika perseteruan sengit antara Arab Saudi dan Pemerintah Doha meningkat.
Menurut majalah berita Amerika Foreign Policy, Raja Salman mengajukan proposal tersebut selama percakapan telepon dengan Trump pada 6 Juni 2017, menyarankan agar AS melakukan invasi darat ke Qatar.
Trump, bagaimanapun, dengan tegas menolak gagasan itu, dan meminta Kuwait untuk menengahi konflik antara Arab Saudi dan Qatar.
Arab Saudi, Uni Emirat Arab, Bahrain dan Mesir memutuskan hubungan diplomatik dan perdagangan dengan Qatar pada 5 Juni 2017, setelah kuartet tersebut secara resmi menuduh Doha ikut campur dalam urusan regional dan mendukung terorisme.
Kementerian Luar Negeri Qatar kemudian mengutuk keputusan untuk memutuskan hubungan diplomatik, menyebut bahwa tindakan tersebut tidak dapat dibenarkan dan diambil berdasarkan klaim dan asumsi yang salah.
Pada tahun yang sama, Arab Saudi dan Sekutunya mengeluarkan daftar tuntutan yang berisi 13 poin, termasuk penutupan jaringan berita televisi al-Jazeera dan penurunan hubungan dengan Iran, sebagai imbalan atas rekonsiliasi.
Dokumen itu juga meminta Qatar untuk memutuskan semua hubungan dengan Ikhwanul Muslimin dan Gerakan Poros Perlawanan Hizbullah Lebanon. Qatar menolak tuntutan itu dan menyebutnya “tidak masuk akal”.
